Teised filmi “Trail Baltic” muusikast:

elurikkuse eest seisja Artur Talvik

dokumentalist Urmas Eero Liiv

“Janek Murdi magnum opus. Seni parim töö!”
muusik ja kunstnik Andres Lõo

“Janekil on haruldane anne tabada lennult filmide vibe’i ning muusika rolli filmis – kas on parajasti vaja hoida tempot, tunda alateadvusest üles tulevaid tumedaid hoovuseid või tunda nimetut igatsust paari efemeerse sündinoodi saatel. Janeki muusikalises menüüs on esindatud kõik tundevarjundid.”
filmi “Trail Baltic.

Rail Balticu raudteetrassi läbi matkanud Hanna Samoson

Music for Marianne Kõrver and Levila's railway film "Trail Baltic: A Trip to the Green" — new soundtrack album out now

"A trek, a journey, the passage and cheering one on — all of this is music already that simply needed to be formatted," said "Trail Baltic" movie soundtrack author Janek Murd.

About the movie:

Rail Baltica, a high speed railway that would establish a modern link with Europe, is slated to be built in Estonia.

One woman, Hanna, straps cameras to her body and walks the 213 kilometer length of the planned Rail Baltica route. On her journey, she meets the people of Estonia. These encounters are chance, direct and honest.

This is a road movie that takes the viewer through Estonia's brush, ditches, bogs and groves. Through ancient fens, bird and animal habitats and backyards — all through which a straight line of train tracks will run in the future. Earth augers and saws can already be heard rumbling in the forests. A new traffic junction is being built for the railway near Tallinn.

An unconventional film that is neither for nor against Rail Baltica, but rather bears witness to the plurality of opinion and to coping with changes, and captures lives and landscapes alike in one fleeting moment in time.

Others on the music of "Trail Baltic":

"This movie's music is like a train — a meditative ride through the film and along the route."
— biodiversity advocate Artur Talvik

"Very cool, innovative and very refreshing doc. What also really polishes the entire thing into a very good movie, however, is Janek's awesome music."
—documentary filmmaker Urmas Eero Liiv

"Janek Murd's magnum opus. His best work yet!"
—musician and artist Andres Lõo

"Janek has a rare gift for nailing a film's vibe as well as the role of the music in the movie — whether in a given moment that means sustaining the pace, feeling the dark currents rising up from your subconscious or feeling a nameless longing accompanied by a couple of ephemeral notes on a synth. All shades of emotion are represented here on Janek's musical menu."
—"Trail Baltic: A Trip to the Green" director Marianne Kõrver

"Neither hiking in the woods nor watching the movie about it afterward made me feel quite like I was part of this film as listening to its soundtrack. I imagined I was in the sequel to ’Nukitsamees,’ one of my favorite movies."
—Hanna Samoson, who walked the planned Rail Baltica route
